What is Coaching?
The International Coaches Federation defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment. Coaches honor the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach's responsibility is to:
- Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve
- Encourage client self-discovery
- Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
- Hold the client responsible and accountable
The Coaching Process
While each client is unique, the typical coaching process is three steps:
- We get really clear on WHO you are and WHAT you want
- We explore what is getting in the way of creating the life that you want to lead
- We put together a specific plan of action and work the plan
The most powerful tools for a coach are exceptional listening skills and empowering questions. Through a combination of intuitive listening and asking questions that clarify and expand and/or challenge your thinking, you are empowered to break through your limiting beliefs and develop the courage and confidence to create the life you want to lead.
The Energy Leadership Index Assessment
This 20 minute on-line assessment helps "jump-start" the coaching experience. Developed by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), this 20 minute online assessment is an attitudinal assessment that measures your level of energy based on your default tendencies, beliefs and perceptions that shape how you show up in life situations. With this heightened awareness, together we can identify what's working for you and what's holding you back.
The Wheel of Life
A simple self-assessment tool to determine which areas of your life are most in or out of balance. We will use this as a guide to determine a coaching focus.

This 12 week program is designed to help you unlock you unlimited potential. The system includes an ELI assessment; 11 Audio CDs; a workbook to help you personalize the system for your life; a journal to record your progress and document your thoughts; and the Energy Leadership book that illustrates how the concepts and ideas in the program are used in a real life situation.
The Energy Leadership Development System
