How Words Can Impact Your Bottom Line

I was so moved by a video I viewed recently that I wanted to share it with you.

The video is entitled “The Power of Words.”  It was created by Andrea Gardner, author of the book Change your Words, Change your World

You can view the video here: The Power of Words.

Humans have been given the gift of language. We can use it in ways that uplift, heal, and inspire. Or we can use it to hurt, tear down, and even destroy. With language, we can create clarity or confusion. And we can use our collective language to serve others.

As a leader, your words matter.

Paying attention to how words are being used by those you lead also matters.

Busy business leaders sometimes neglect to assess how an interaction (verbal or written) is impacting the productivity and output of their team, and possibly their entire organization.

An effective leader observes what is happening in the moment, assesses the impact, and responds with words and acts of encouragement or correction.

The next time you observe the words being used in your organization, think of the woman in this video, whose powerful word intervention changes a man’s day – and likely his life.

Observe, assess and respond accordingly. It’s possible that a single turn of phrase could have a significant financial impact on your business’s bottom line.

Watch The Power of Words.

If you’re a leader who needs to establish the practice of being in the moment so you can more effectively observe the language of your organization, I’ve be happy to partner with you. Contact me at gayle@total-life-leadership.com.
